Climate Spring at Festival de Cannes 2025
The Climate Spring team attended Festival de Cannes 2025, championing the role of storytelling in driving climate action across the film and TV industry.

That’s a wrap on Cannes 2025 - and what a week it’s been.
It was a pleasure to attend this year’s Festival de Cannes, meeting with friends and partners and connecting with the global creative community that gathers at the festival each year. Against the backdrop of one of the world’s most prestigious film festivals, Climate Spring was once again flying the flag for the powerful role storytelling plays in responding to the challenges of our time.
We were delighted to be a partner of the conference What is the Power of Artistic Freedom in the Age of Crisis? at the Marché du Film, co-hosted with CUT! Cinéma Uni pour la Transition, IMAGINE 2050, On Est Prêt, Think-Film Impact Production and United Nations Climate Change. The event brought together leaders from across the creative industries to explore how artistic expression can be a force for transformation in the face of global crises.
As part of the conference, Climate Spring Director of Impact & Research, Josh Cockcroft, joined the panel Creating in a Finite World - a discussion on how artists and filmmakers are navigating climate change through storytelling. Josh spoke alongside a panel of brilliant colleagues, including Emma Wall, Agathe Duliscouet, Blair Barnette and Katja von Garnier.
We were also pleased to be part of The Eco Hub at Marché du Film - an initiative spotlighting more than forty green projects and organisations working to accelerate environmental change across the industry. As part of the Eco Hub Talk Series, Climate Spring’s Marine Goulois shared how Climate Spring supports writers, producers and commissioners in embedding climate into stories across all genres - from romantic comedies to thrillers and beyond.
Thank you to all our collaborators and partners and to everyone who joined us throughout the week. Until next year!
