We’re thrilled to announce Ruben Reuter and Rosie Baldwin as the winners of the 2026 Climate Spring Digital-first pitch competition at Sheffield DocFest for their project Ruben Against The Machine!
Following the exciting finalists pitch session at the festival, Ruben and Rosie were crowned the winners of the £10,000 production funding prize to help make their idea a reality.

Ruben Reuter is an actor, broadcast journalist and presenter from Yorkshire. A regular face on Channel 4 News, he reports on stories around climate, disability and social affairs. Rosie Baldwin is a documentary filmmaker whose work spans broadcast, branded and independent storytelling including films for the BBC, Channel 4, Vice and ITV Exposure.
Ruben and Rosie's project was chosen by a brilliant panel of expert judges including Alice Aedy (Filmmaker, Nat Geo Explorer, Co-Founder Earthrise), Josh Reynolds (Executive Producer, Zandland), Sam Pearson (Executive Producer, Hearst Canvas) and Ameenah Taher (Digital Commissioning Executive, Channel 4) and moderated by Climate Spring’s Head of Unscripted, David Leach.
