The inaugural Climate Playwriting Prize is a partnership between Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, Climate Spring and Fern Culture, inviting playwrights to respond creatively to the climate crisis and uncover the most exciting new stories engaging with the subject matter.
Submissions will be reviewed by a stellar panel of judges including; Sir Lenny Henry (Actor, presenter and comedian), Lucy Kirkwood (Playwright and screenwriter), Nancy Medina (Artistic Director, Bristol Old Vic), Professor Pablo Mukherjee (Professor of Anglophone World-Literature, Oxford University), Amir Nizar Zuabi (Artistic Director, The Walk Productions), Lucy Stone (Founder and Executive Director, Climate Spring) and Michelle Terry (Artistic Director, Shakespeare's Globe)
One winner will be selected announced in autumn 2026 and receive £15,000 and dramaturgical support to develop their play.
